How I handle what you send

Web & Wire is a trade name operated by Cory James Baker in Arizona. When this page says ‘I’ or ‘me,’ it means the person operating Web & Wire. I collect only what I need to answer you and do the work you ask for.
What I collect
What you type and send me. Depending on which form you use:
- “Let’s talk” on the home page — your name, a phone number or email, your message, and how you’d like me to reply.
- Tech help requests — your answers about the problem, your name, whether it’s for you or a business (and the business name), how and when to reach you, and roughly where you are.
- The website project interview — details about your business and the website you want, your contact details, and anything else you choose to write.
- Your private project page — your reactions to designs, feedback, answers to my requests, change requests, and, when you approve a launch, your name and the time you approved it.
Files you upload — photos, screenshots, logos or documents you choose to send with a form. Please don’t send passwords or other secrets in files or messages.
A little technical information. To stop abuse, I keep a scrambled, one-way version of your internet (IP) address — not the address itself — and count how many requests come from it. My hosting provider also keeps standard technical logs of requests to the site.
What I don’t do
- No advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, and no tracking cookies.
- I don’t sell your information or share it with anyone for their marketing.
What’s saved in your own browser
The project interview and some of the other forms save your progress in your browser as you go, so you can come back and finish later. The home page remembers where you were on the page for the current tab only. You can clear these at any time in your browser’s settings.
Two things do reach my server before you press Send: files you attach to a tech help request or on your project page are uploaded as soon as you attach them, and your private project page saves your feedback as you write it, so nothing is lost. Attached files you never send are deleted automatically (see below).
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores the forms and files you send, on my behalf.
- ntfy, a notification service, tells my phone that something new has arrived. It receives only a reference number — never your name, contact details or message.
- My email and phone providers handle any emails, calls or texts between us.
How long I keep it
Forms you start but never send, and files you upload but never send, are deleted automatically after 7 days without activity. What you do send, I keep for as long as it’s reasonably necessary to provide my services, keep records of the work, resolve problems or disputes, and meet legal, tax, security or contractual obligations. You can ask me to delete your information at any time, and I’ll delete whatever no longer needs to be kept for those reasons.
How I protect it
Your private project and follow-up links are long random codes, and I store only a scrambled version of them. Your files are never public: they’re stored privately and are only available through your private link or my own sign-in-protected tools.
Your choices
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hello@webandwire.co and I’ll take care of it.
Children
This site isn’t meant for children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
